Congratulations to Hyatt Regency Baltimore’s “Stars of the Industry”
We are excited to share that seven Hyatt Regency Baltimore associates were nominated for the Maryland Hotel and Lodging Association “Stars of the Industry” Awards. The nominations and categories were as follows:
Nelly Arias, Room Attendant Room Keeper of the Year
Rajeev Bhaskaran, Room Service Server F&B Employee of the Year
Elizabeth Breaux, Sales & Marketing Representative Administrative Employee of the Year
Michael Curry, Asst. Front Office Manager Manager of the Year
Gail Smith-Howard, General Manager Hotelier of the Year
Joe Tyler Bell, Person Bell Person of the Year
Blayre Widener, Front Office Agent Guest Service Agent of the Year
The 23rd annual luncheon and Allied Trade Show took place on Friday January 27th, 2012 at Hyatt Regency Baltimore. This prestigious award is given out each year to honor the dedicated and talented people whose professionalism and commitment to service exemplify the highest standards in the industry, and make the lodging industry in Maryland so successful.
Hyatt Regency Baltimore is very proud of all their nominees and excited to share that Gail Smith-Howard and Blayre Widener were awarded their respective honors.
Upon receiving her award Gail commented…..”I am truly delighted and extremely humbled to be this year’s recipient of the Hotelier of the Year award. However, my acceptance and receipt of this award would not be complete without acknowledging that this honor is a tribute to the incredible Leadership Team and supporting staff that surrounds me. Their passion and drive to exceed expectations of senior leadership, guests and owners has not only allowed me to manage the Hyatt, but their efforts have also afforded me the opportunity to contribute to the community, an act which is near and dear to my heart. Receiving Hotelier of the Year is a tremendous accolade and I accept this award on behalf of my entire staff. I thank the Maryland Hotel and Lodging Association for bestowing this honor upon me.”
