By on December 1, 2014

For the past three years, Hyatt has hosted the “Hyatt Hospitality Education Fundraiser” benefiting three nonprofit organizations that have a direct impact on the education and professional development of minority and underserved students. This year’s event was held on November 8, 2014 at Park Hyatt New York, with all proceeds from the event benefiting the American Hotel & Lodging Educational Foundation (AHLEF), National Society of Minorities in Hospitality (NSMH), and the Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU) – Consortium of Hospitality Management.

We are so grateful for the generosity of our Hyatt partners who supported this wonderful cause and allowed us to achieve a major milestone, with their contributions, we raised $100, 000! These monies will allow us to enhance our ongoing scholarship funds and programs, specifically the Hyatt – HBCU High School Summer Bridge Program, which exposes high school students to career opportunities within hospitality and the educational offerings at Historically Black Colleges and Universities, we will increase the number of  scholarships awarded from the Hyatt Hotels Fund for Minority Lodging Management Students, and our continue our sponsorship of the NSMH High School Outreach program.

Education and career readiness is one of the four pillars of Hyatt Thrive, our global corporate social responsibility program. Partnering with these three esteemed organizations, allows Hyatt to make a difference in the lives of both high school and college students. Thank you to the supporters of this year’s Hyatt Hospitality Education Fundraiser! These companies are playing a part in the education of future hoteliers and hospitality industry professionals:
